What to be considered before purchasing a video conference camera?

After the corona pandemic, hybrid working tend to be a new working model, video conferencing came to be a significant way of communication for business employees and students of schools and colleges. This article will specify what to be considered before purchasing a suitable video conferencing camera.

1. The lens.

The lens is a key component of a video conference camera. At present, the photosensitive elements used in the lens of video conference cameras on the market can be divided into CCD and CMOS. One of the great advantages of CMOS lenses is that they do not suffer from blooming, also called tearing. Blooming is where the bright part of an images electrons leak from the holding region and spills into neighboring pixels, which results in streaks around that part of the image. Its advanced nature determines CMOS lens will be the future. At present, the size of the CCD photosensitive element is mostly 1/3 inch or 1/4 inch. Under the same resolution, it is better to choose a larger element size.
Minrray cameras lens are mostly CMOS type, which determine its true-to-life images and high color reproduction.

2. Focal.

Focus is finding the optimal sharpness of an object. It's how clear the image appears in its final form. A completely sharp image is said to be in focus, while an image that's "blurry" is said to be out of focus. Fixed-focus cameras typically restrict their widest aperture to f/8 or smaller, to yield adequate depth of field. Depth of field decreases with longer lens focal length, and the focal length of a "standard" lens scales in proportion to the image-format dimensions. So a fixed-focus camera for 35mm film will give greater depth of field than one for 120 film. Autofocus is a mechanism in an optical system which automatically changes the optics to focus an image. In a camera, this is used to focus the subject image, through the lens, onto the focal plane - the film or digital sensor. Generally, fixed-focus video conference cameras will be cheaper than autofocusing cameras. The larger the focal length, the farther the target can be seen through the camera, and the smaller the focal length, the closer the target can be seen.

3. The resolution

The resolution of the image is the ability of the camera to analyze and distinguish the image. It has a direct impact on the effect of the image. Resolution can generally be divided into two types: image resolution and video resolution, namely, the resolution when capturing static images and the resolution when capturing dynamic images. In practical applications of video conferencing, the image resolution is generally higher than the video resolution. The types of resolutions that can be given by video conferencing cameras on the market are also different, so you should pay attention when purchasing.
All of Minrray cameras are up to 1080P resolution, ensuring the image clarity and smoothness.

4. The collected pixels.

The pixel value collected by the camera is an important indicator that affects the quality of the video conference camera, and it is also an important indicator for judging its pros and cons. The pixel value of the early camera is generally around 100,000. Due to shortage of technology, they are now on the verge of being eliminated, and users should pay attention to them when buying. But blindly considering the pixel value is also unnecessary. Because a product with a higher pixel value has a stronger ability to analyze images, it also requires a higher computer's ability to process data. If the computer configuration is not high enough, the use of high-pixel capture equipment may cause the delay of the picture, thereby affecting the transmission of the video conference. Therefore, users should integrate their actual needs when purchasing products.

5.Transmission interface.

It is not enough for video conference cameras to collect high-quality images. We also need a high-speed transmission interface to transmit the collected data. If we use an interface with less transmission bandwidth, the data will be blocked or even frame skipping. However, there will be a lot of data transmission in Minrray Video Conferencing Cameras, and users have great freedom to select what they need. USB interface products have always been widely accepted for plug-and-play and easy-to-use. The video conference camera uses a USB interface, which can be plug and play.
